Brexit Secretary, Dominic Raab, has said that he expects the UK to strike a Brexit deal with Brussels by November.
He also stated that the last few weeks of negotiations over post-Brexit arrangements were “always going to be tough”.
Sir Keir Starmer replied back to Raab with comments accusing the government of suffering “groundhog day”. “Everything will be alright in the end, and if it isn’t, we’ll just crash out with nod eal and declare that a success.”
Leader of the DUP at Westminster, Nigel Dodds had some comments to make as well. He gave Raab a stern warning by saying that the Northern Irish party would not accept a deal that would separate them from the UK with regards to the single market.
As a response, Raab promised to avoid doing “anything which would be a threat to the economic or constitutional integrity of the UK”.
Raab did not rule out the possibility of a regulatory border in the Irish Sea but he only stated that it would be up to the Northern Ireland Executive and Assembly to approve of it.
