At least 35 people have been killed in a stampede in Kerman, the hometown of the late General Qasem Soleimani.
The stampede, which also saw more than 48 injured, happened as Iranian’s headed to the burial of General Soleimani, who was killed in an airstrike ordered by US President Donald Trump. The exact cause of the stampede is unknown, but it is thought that streets were packed ahead of the planned burial.
The burial, which was planned for Tuesday morning, has now been postponed, with officials saying a new time will be announced later.
