Scotland’s first minister Nicola Sturgeon called for a “coalition for opposition” over the recent draft Brexit deal, claiming a “strong willingness” in the opposition. Earlier today, she had a discussion in London with the Labour Party’s leader Jeremy Corbyn. They are both strongly opposed to this new deal.

Ms Sturgeon also met Prime Minister Theresa May at Westminster in a “full and frank discussion”. The latter is, however, saying the new Brexit deal would allow the UK to have a safe exit of the European Union and then avoid a no-deal Brexit.

Although the main critiques of the deal are about Northern Ireland borders which could have devastating consequences on Scotland’s jobs and economy, UK’s farming union agreed on the deal. But Nicola Sturgeon also criticised Theresa May when she said the agreement would stop European migrants from being prioritised in jobs.

Scotland’s first minister noted that another Brexit referendum could be possible in the next few months. She also said the 35 Scottish National Party Members of Parliament will vote against the Brexit deal.
