MPs have voted to back a new third runway at Heathrow, Britain’s Busiest Airport.
In a vote late on Monday evening, the House of Commons backed the plans by 415 to 119, giving the government a huge majority of 296 on the issue.
119 Labour MPs voted against the plans, along with 8 rebel Tory MPs.
Monday’s vote was briefly disrupted while protesters against expansion laid down in Parliament’s central lobby before later voluntarily leaving.
