More Trump critics targeted as 12th package found in US

US law enforcement has uncovered three new potentially explosive packages today, as part of searches in response to attempted domestic terror attacks.

Two were found in Florida and a third was uncovered by Police in New York, all of them were found at mail facilities whilst searching for a suspect.

In line with the other packages found this week, they were addressed to individuals that have openly clashed with President Donald Trump; Senator Cory Booker and former National Intelligence Chief James Clapper were the intended targets.

The searches have been somewhat successful, according to one report in The Telegraph Kirstjen Nielsen, US Homeland Security Secretary told Fox News that “ ‘Some of the packages went through the mail. They originated, some of them, from Florida’ ”.

Though none of the pipe bombs found since Monday have exploded, they are being treated as live explosives, and as active threats to the intended recipients.

Among others to have been targeted with packages are former President Barack Obama, Democrat Hillary Clinton, and actor Robert DeNiro.

Joe Biden, also targeted this week, told CBS News that “[America needs to] turn off this hate machine”.

US media outlets have questioned whether President Trump is aware of the impact of his criticism of the media and other language has on the opinions and actions of people.

He has tweeted in response to this and has a posted a condemnation of the attempted attacks.

Since the posting of this article, an individual has been arrested in relation to the attempted bombings.
