Political leaders, faith leaders and members of the royal family have attended events to commemorate International Holocaust Memorial Day.
Boris Johnson and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge joined genocide survivors to light candles at an event in London, 75 years on from the liberation of Auschwitz, a former Nazi death camp.
Around 200 Holocaust survivors gathered at Auschwitz in Poland on Monday for a commemoration.
Speaking on Monday, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson vowed to not let the Holocaust be forgotten and said, “As prime minister, I promise that we will preserve this truth forever”. He also offered his support to a proposed National Holocaust Memorial and Education Centre near Parliament.
