Arron Banks faces further pressure to prove where Leave.EU funding came from

The businessman and staunch Brexiteer, Arron Banks, has been pressed further to give a direct answer about the source of the £8 million that was donated by his companies during the referendum in 2016.

Mr. Banks is currently under investigation by the National Crime Agency for alleged electoral offences in relation to funding during the Brexit referendum.

Facing an interview with the BBC’s Andrew Marr over the weekend, he repeatedly failed to respond to claims that Rock Services, the Company which he says produced the funding, is merely a shell company that creates no revenue of its own.

He said on the Andrew Marr show:

“Rock Services has all sorts of revenue, it generates insurance income.”

This contradicts evidence that he previously provided for the government, according to one MP.

Damien Collins, the Conservative Chair of the Culture, Media and Sport Committee said on Radio 4 today that Banks said the company Rock Services itself does not generate cash.

The Police Probe of Arron Banks and other senior officials of the Leave.EU organisation continues.
