Jeremy Hunt to replace Boris Johnson as Foreign Secretary

Theresa May has appointed health secretary Jeremy Hunt to succeed Boris Johnson as foreign secretary following his resignation on Monday night.

In response to May’s soft Brexit plans, a few ministers resigned on Monday in opposition. Jeremy Hunt was called down to Downing Street where he was offered the new position as foreign secretary.

Hunt held his position in cabinet for the longest amount of time compared to those who preceded him. Matt Hancock, former Culture Secretary, will replace him as health secretary.
