Gina Miller, the campaigner best known for her two Supreme Court cases against the government during Brexit, has announced she is to stand in Epsom and Ewell at the next election.
Her True and Fair party announced its first tranche of candidates in Westminster this morning, with 9 names standing. They will go up against prominent Conservatives such as Esther McVey and Nadine Dorries.
Miller herself is standing against Chris Grayling, the former Transport Secretary who is the MP for Epsom and Ewell. He currently has a majority of around 17,000 but is at risk of defeat following the Conservatives polling woes.
Miller launched the True and Fair party earlier this year in a bid to create a new party to challenge the Conservatives.
At the time, the Partygate scandal was at its height; since, there has been two prime ministerial resignations and Rishi Sunak looks set to become the third prime minister in two months.
