Home Secretary Sajid Javid is due to chair a meeting of the government’s Cobra emergency committee for the first time on Thursday as the government looks to coordinate a response to the latest Novichok poisoning.
A couple from Wiltshire, Dawn Sturgess and Charlie Rowley remain in critical condition in hospital this morning after counter-terror police confirmed last night that they were injured by the same deadly nerve agent used in the attack on Sergei and Yulia Skripal.
An urgent question in the House of Commons also looks possible in addition to the Cobra meeting, although it’s unclear quite how much more ministers can really say at this stage.
