Brighton Pavilion MP, Caroline Lucas is stepping down as co-leader of the Green Party after entering the role in 2016. Ms Lucas had previously served as party leader between 2008 and 2012.
Announcing she would not be putting herself forward for re-election , the party’s only MP said “I believe that Jonathan and I have shown the power of working together, and that it’s now time for me to show the power of letting go.”
Ms Lucas said she “instead will be focusing even more on work in Parliament and in Brighton”.
