The newest import taxes imposed by Trump’s administration targeting more than $200 billion worth of goods, now meaning tariffs have been placed on almost half of US-Chinese trade. The White House has also warned that they are prepared to increase tariffs further should China retaliate to the latest round.
A woman who accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault is likely to testify at his confirmation hearings. The Senate has delayed the vote on his confirmation and both Kavanaugh and the accuser are expected to testify before the Senate. Donald Trump has stated that he doesn’t mind the delay in the hearings and promised that the woman would be heard.
Elon Musk is being sued by the British diver he accused of being a paedophile. The Tesla billionaire has been sued by Vernon Unsworth, weeks after Musk claimed that if there weren’t truth to the allegations then Unsworth would have sued him already. Unsworth is seeking $75,000 in damages with Musk’s accusation coming after Unsworth criticised a mini-sub that Musk sent to help with the rescue of the Thai children stranded in a cave.
