Briefing Thursday 6th September

A New York Times editorial has claimed that top-level officials in the Trump administration have been actively undermining the president’s agenda. The anonymous editorial writer – who themselves claim to be a high ranking official – claimed a group of officials are trying to protect the nation by undermining Trump. This comes following a new book that claimed officials would remove paperwork from Trump’s desk to stop him from pursuing dangerous policies – the president wouldn’t notice.

UK police have named two suspects in the poisoning of the Skipral’s in Salisbury in March. Speaking in the House of Commons, Prime Minister Theresa May announced that both suspects – Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov – were members of Russia’s GRU intelligence service.

Japan has been hit by a 6.6 magnitude earthquake. Japanese authorities have stated there is no Tsunami risk, although warnings have been issued for the west coast of America and parts of Australia. There have been reports of blackouts, but no injuries have been reported.

And in other news,

A mystery kangaroo has clearly made the mistake of confusing Australia with Austria, as a loose kangaroo has been found in the country, despite no local zoos reporting one missing. Authorities have been attempting to track down the animal, with locals andTwitterr users claiming it is not actually a kangaroo, but a wallaby, however experts are insisting it is a kangaroo.
