A wildfire in a northern California town has totally engulfed the town, killing 5. The fire swept through the town of Paradise, with conditions still too dangerous to conduct a thorough search making it likely that this death toll will rise.

Florida and Georgia’s Gubernatorial races are still yet to be decided after recounts were needed. Andrew Gillum, the Floridian democratic candidate has withdrawn his concession after it came to light that there were more ballots uncounted than previously suspected. In Georgia, Stacey Abrams is refusing to concede until all ballots are counted, with the race being contentious for the voter roll purges carried out by her opponent, Brian Kemp, in the lead up to the election.

Transport minister Jo Johnson has resigned from Theresa May’s government. Brother to former Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson, Jo likewise resigned over the Prime Ministers Brexit position. He stated that it is necessary to go back to the people as the country is ‘barrelling towards an incoherent Brexit’.

Netflix have signed up David Attenborough for a new nature series. Attenborough is set to narrate the upcoming Our Planet series. The 92-year-old is the voice of nature TV, having narrated documentaries for decades. This latest show is set to be released in April 2019 and will showcase the ‘most precious species and fragile habitats’.
