Briefing Monday 3rd September

Former Polish Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski must not become infected by the ‘social diseases’ of western Europe. The comments came at a major speech on Sunday in which he stated that Poland belonged in the EU but must not ‘repeat the mistakes of the West. Poland’s Law and Justice Party – founded and still chaired by Kaczynski – has consistently violated EU law and is largely touted as being responsible for a right-wing surge in the nation.

A local government office in Somalia has been hit by a suicide car bomb attack. Somalian police have stated that an explosion in the nation’s capital, Mogadishu, was a suicide car bomb attack and is believed to have left 6 dead. A nearby school was destroyed by the explosion.

A huge blaze has been reported at Littlewood Pools building in Liverpool. The five-storey art deco building has been empty for five years and it is currently unknown as to what caused the fire. Footage shows large flames throughout the building with fire crews fighting to put out the fire.

And in other news,

A Brittany beach has banned swimmers after lustful dolphins were getting too close for comfort. The Mayor of Landevennec, in France’s north-western region, was forced to take the action due to fears that dolphins with exceptionally high libidos may harm swimmers. Swimmers are not allowed within 40 meters of dolphins due to their increasingly aggressive behaviour in search of a mate.
