Health Secretary Matt Hancock has tested positive for Coronavirus

The UK’s Health Secretary Matt Hancock has tested positive for Coronavirus.

In a tweet, Mr Hancock said;

“Following medical advice, I was advised to test for #Coronavirus. I‘ve tested positive. Thankfully my symptoms are mild and I’m working from home & self-isolating. Vital we follow the advice to protect our NHS & save lives #StayHomeSaveLives”

Mr Hancock said will be self-isolating until next Thursday.

The news comes just hours after UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that he has tested positive for the COVID-19 Coronavirus and is now self-isolating.

In a tweet, Mr Johnson said,

“Over the last 24 hours I have developed mild symptoms and tested positive for coronavirus. I am now self-isolating, but I will continue to lead the government’s response via video-conference as we fight this virus. Together we will beat this. #StayHomeSaveLives”

Both Mr Johnson and Mr Hancock are continuing to work from home at this time as the UK responds to the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic.
