Pakistan to retaliate if India attacks

On Thursday’s bomb attack in Indian-administered Kashmir, more than 40 Indian security forces died.

The militant group Jaish-e-Mohammad said that it was behind the attack. As the terrorist group is based in Pakistan, the Indian government has accused the country of being involved in the attack.

Pakistan denies any involvement in the bombing and in a televised address, the country’s Prime Minister Khan challenged India to provide evidence to support its claims.

In his address,  PM Khan said India should “stop blaming Pakistan without any proof or evidence”. He continued by saying: “Any adventurism on the part of India to threaten the sovereignty of Pakistan will be met with assured retaliation…”

Khan also called for dialogue and cooperation with India to investigate the attack.

The tension between the two countries has risen amid the aftermath of the suicide bombing.

India has accused its neighbour of being complicit – declaring that it would isolate Pakistan internationally.

India and Pakistan control respective parts of the Muslim-majority Kashmir.
