Protests have intensified in Paris and across France, with thousands of people protesting over taxes and President Emmanuel Macron.
Paris Metro stations, the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and other tourist attractions are closed, as over 89,000 security officials have been deployed across the country in an attempt to prevent further violence. Tear gas and water cannons have been used on the protesters.
Many protesters are wearing yellow vests, and are thought to be angry with low rates of pay and high taxes. More than 700 have been arrested and around 30 people injured.
French President Macron recently postponed a planned tax rise on fuel, after protests over the past fortnight which have seen three people die.
The postponing over the tax rises seems to have done little to stop anger, with protesters taking to the street over multiple issues, largely related to the economy.
