Within hours of the United States mid-term results, Attorney General Jeff Sessions resigned at the request of Donald Trump. He was replaced by his chief of staff who happens to be staunchly against the Muller investigation. A march in Warsaw, to celebrate the centenary of the country’s independence has been cancelled due to a threat of nationalists. Warsaw’s Mayor, Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz stated that she was revoking clearance for the march due to the fear of nationalist violence.

The United States mid-terms have produced a series of historic firsts. Sharice Davids (D-KA) and Deb Haaland (D-NM) have become the first Native American women to enter Congress. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) have become the first Muslim-American women to enter Congress, with Omar becoming the first hijab wearer to enter the United States Capitol.
