UK Prime Minister Theresa May has said she will not be watching the new BBC political drama, Bodyguard, as she likes watching shows in order to “unwind”.
The new 6 part drama, which stars Keeley Hawes and Richard Madden, has received generally positive reviews so far from critics. The programmes first episode had particularly good reviews, with a peak of 6.9 million viewers.
The political thriller follows the lives of fictional home secretary, Julia Montague and her relationship with her protection officer, David Budd.
Theresa May, who was home secretary for 6 years before becoming Prime Minister said “I watch TV to unwind – I’m not sure a drama about a female home secretary is the best way for me to do that.”
The comments came from Mrs May during her three day trade mission in Africa, where she was also caught dancing awkwardly during a visit to a school.
