Boris Johnson could face an investigation due to the comments he made about burkas which may breach the Conservative Party’s code of conduct. However, while there have been many complaints about him and demands to expel him, his case will be looked at by an independent panel which will refer the ex-foreign secretary to the board of the Conservative party. Mr Johnson has refused to apologise for his comments and has also been rejecting calls from people demanding apologies.
Dozens, including scores of children, have been killed by airstrikes in Yemen. A bus carrying children was hit by the Saudi-led coalition fighting Houthi rebels. Those responsible for the killing have referred to it as a legitimate military action, however, it is unknown as to whether this was the case. Western nations have been selling weapons to the Saudi forces ever since the conflict broke out.
Russia have slammed ‘unpredictable’ United States after they announced a round of sanctions in recent days. These new sanctions supposedly came in response to the attack on the Skipral’s in Salisbury, England in March. Tension is continuing to escalate between Russia and the USA since the Helsinki Summit that saw fears of collusion rising, as well as revelations in recent days that US some voting machines in ongoing US primary elections were potentially being manipulated.

In what was the first Premier League transfer window since the deadline was brought forward to before the start of the season clubs have been showing that the shorter window has not impacted their ability to do business. Fulham became the first newly promoted side to spend £100 million going into the new season, whilst several clubs broke their transfer records. However, Tottenham Hotspur failed to sign a single player during the window, citing that inflated prices in recent years priced them out of many moves.
