UKIP suspends three members following bookshop protest

UKIP has suspended three of its party members after staging a protest at Bookmarks in London whilst wearing Donald Trump masks.

The group of demonstrators had allegedly intimidated staff members and customers at the socialist bookshop in Bloomsbury, central London.

The protesters used abusive language and tore up display items in the shop.

Video footage of the demonstration revealed the group chanting in support of the far right founder of the English Defence League who was recently discharged from prison.

Although the Police had been called to the scene, no arrests had been made and there were no injuries.

The chair of UKIP, Tony McIntyre announced that he would be suspending three members of the party due to this incident.

The three members include: Elizabeth Jones, Luke Nash-Jones and Martin Costello who will be confronted with an internal investigation.

UKIP released a statement which stated:

“It is understood that the three members were involved in an incident at the Bookmarks bookshop in London on Saturday”.

The group had filmed their actions and then deleted the video from YouTube,. However, a copy of the video was made and has been re-uploaded on the YouTube Channel Far-Right Watch.
