Police believe they have been able to identify the suspected perpetrators of the novichok attack on Sergi and Yulia Skripal, the Press Association has reported.
Both Sergei and Yulia Skripal survived the attack after undergoing extensive treatment in the Salisbury District Hospital. However, it is thought that the incident in Amesbury which resulted in one death was like to the attack on the Skripals. Mr Skripal, who was a former Russian double agent, is thought to have been targeted by the Russian state, who deny any involvement.
Officers believe that several Russians were involved in the attempted murder, with the police looking for more than one suspect.
A source close to the investigation told PA “Investigators believe they have identified the suspected perpetrators of the novichok attack through CCTV and has cross-checked this with records of people who entered the country around that time.”
Scotland Yard, which is leading the investigation, has declined to comment.
