Thousands of people across the UK have paid tributes one year after the Grenfell Tower disaster.
All the names of the 72 victims were read out by the community at the Grenfell Tower site.
MPs, the Fire Brigade of London, England’s football team, opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn, the Queen and the Duchess of Sussex paid their tribute to the fire victims.
Moments of silence took place across the UK, particularly in London.
Hundreds of people attended the ceremony to commemorate the victims near the block in West London. People wore green and carried big green hearts that read ‘unity’, ‘humanity’ and ‘love’.
The colour green symbolised the tragedy which was even worn by the Queen at the opening of a gate in Chester on Thursday where a moment of silence also took place for the victims.
Among the people of the community were Adele and Stormzy who have fought for the cause and have spoken of their scepticism on the way in which the government has dealt with the situation.
The ceremony at the foot of where Grenfell Tower used to be had a 72 second silence at midday for all the 72 victims where their mourners and members of the public commemorated their passing.
On Thursday night another silent March will take place near the North Kensington neighbourhood.
