UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is engaged to his partner Carrie Symonds and they are expecting a baby in the summer, the couple have announced.
The couple got engaged at the end of 2019 and made the announcement on Saturday.
Ms Symonds, 31, wrote on Instagram that she and Mr Johnson, 55, became engaged at the end of last year, saying “Many of you already know but for my friends that still don’t, we got engaged at the end of last year… and we’ve got a baby hatching early summer. Feel incredibly blessed.”
This is set to be Mr Johnson’s third marriage after he divorced his first wife and separated from his second wife Marina Wheeler in 2018.
Mr Johnson has often been reluctant to talk about his private life. Over the last year, the PM has though come under significant scrutiny over his personal life, including in 2019 after police were called following reports of a loud altercation at the home shared by the couple before entering Downing Street.
