Tariffs of 17% on Canadian paper imports introduced by US President Donald Trump in January have been struck down by the US International Trade Commission.
The tariffs were struck down on Wednesday when the Commission announced that there was no evidence that Canadian paper imports were having a hurtful impact on the industry in the US.
The news, which comes as an unexpected blow to the Trump Administration, is, however, a win for the US newspapers industry, which had used Canadian paper in order to keep costs low.
