Panasonic to move Europe headquarters away from UK

Panasonic has announced it will move its European headquarters from the UK to Amsterdam in October ahead of Brexit.

Panasonic Europe’s chief executive, Laurent Abadi said the move was designed in order to avoid any potential tax issues that may occur as a result of the UK’s departure from the EU. It is thought around 20 staff out of a total of 30 in the office will be impacted by the move.

The move by Panasonic follows the announcement of many other companies who will also be leaving the UK before Brexit takes effect. Several Japanese financial companies are amongst those to announce they will move their EU bases outside of the UK.
