The Conservatives and Labour experienced a mixed set of results in the Local Elections, both with areas to be disappointed about.
The Conservatives held onto Wandsworth and Westminister, blocking major Labour gains here. Labour meanwhile lost Nuneaton and Derby councils but gained Plymouth.
Meanwhile, the Lib Dems have experienced significant gains across the country. UKIP, on the other hand, have collapsed, losing 123 of their 126 seats.
The Conservatives have avoided a disaster following the Windrush scandal and Brexit problems, in the first collection of public opinion since last year’s snap election but still lost 33 seats.
Labour gained 77 seats, but it is thought the anti-semitism scandal had an impact in some areas.
