Major sporting events and leagues suspended amid Coronavirus outbreak

All Premier League and EFL football games in England have been suspended until at least April 3 amid the Coronavirus outbreak.

Games in the FA Women’s Super League, Women’s Championship, Champions League and Europa League have all been postponed, the Australian GP has been cancelled and England’s Sri Lanka tour has been called off.

Other top-flight sporting leagues around the world have also suspended matches.

English football had been told to carry on as normal by the government, however, games have been suspended by many leagues.

Three Leicester City players are being tested for COVID-19 and the Everton squad are in self-isolation. Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta and Chelsea player Callum Hudson-Odoi have been diagnosed with the virus.

The suspension of games come as other major events are cancelled across the world and some public venues are closed.
