May to convene special ‘war cabinet’ to approve UK action in Syria

UK Prime Minister Theresa May will convene a special ‘war cabinet’ on Thursday, where it is thought she will ask for approval on a form of British participation in action led by France and the US against the Syrian President’s chemical weapons infrastructure, following an alleged chemical which reportedly killed 70 people.

The announcement comes after US President Donald Trump took to Twitter to say ‘weapons will be coming.’

Controversially, it seems Parliament will not get a say on UK action in Syria, which could start within hours of the cabinet meeting. Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn amongst other opposition MPs have demanded that Parliament must be given a vote on any action. If Parliament did not get a say, the Government would be going against a recent convention that the House of Commons approves UK military intervention.

Would you back UK military intervention in Syria? Comment your thoughts.
