It’s been over 1000 days since Northern Ireland last had a government and it doesn’t look likely that a government will return to Stormont any time soon.
We spoke to Oliver Allen, a student who told us that he saw no future in Northern Ireland.
Talking to The Speaker, Oliver said;
“It’s difficult to sort of look at the country where you’ve grown up and you love, and see no future there.
“Because I don’t see a future in Northern Ireland for myself because the politics over there is so few.
“At the minute, you would either have to sit as an MP or local councillor, there is no Stormont really, so to speak, for us to go to and actually get our political voice heard.”
The government in Northern Ireland collapsed over two years ago following a power-sharing argument between the DUP and Sinn Fein, the two parties in power. To read more about why Northern Ireland is without a government, click here and view the video above for the full interview with Oliver.
