The UK Government is considering an option that would give Northern Ireland joint UK and EU status after Brexit.
The consideration comes as the Government tries to break the deadlock in negotiations over the Irish border. The option would see Northern Ireland being able to trade freely with the UK and the EU. A 10-mile buffer zone would be in place at the Irish border to allow trade to take place.
At present, the option is still in discussion, and may not be proposed to the EU.
