International Criminal Court in the Hauge

How the ICC Works – International Criminal Court

ICC stands for International Criminal Court. The initials also stand for the International Cricket Council – though this guide is about something very different…

The ICC investigates, and where warranted, tries individuals who have been charged with the worst crimes that are of concern to the international community. The Court aims to hold those responsible accountable for crimes including genocide, war crimes, aggression and crimes against humanity.

The ICC is a court of last resort and is the first permanent international criminal court in the world.
