How Much Progress Can the US-Taliban Talks Actually Make?

In Quatar, US envoy, Zalmay Khalilzad, has published a series of tweets claiming “significant progress” has been made towards ending the 17-year-long conflict in Afghanistan.

Reiterated by Taliban officials and bearing a warning to the summary that “unresolved matters” are still at play and should be resolved before any agreement could be signed by wither country.

However, what will an “intra-Afghan dialogue” in western politcs, look like? While the Taliban continue to remark Afghan officials as “puppets”, can there ever be a “comprehensive ceasefire?”

Sources at the BBC, have said the two sides look for mutual agreements in the withdrawal of US troops from Afghanistan, some 14000 soldiers,
