Protests take place in Iran following admission over the shooting down of flight PS752

Protests have been taking place in Iran amid the country's admission that a missile it launched shot down Ukraine International Airlines flight PS752 in human error.

The crash of the aircraft left all 176 passengers and crew dead, with most of the victims from Iran and Canada. Originally, Iran had denied claims that it may have accidentally shot down the Boeing 737, however it has now admitted that it "unintentionally" shot down the plane.

A group of protestors in Iran have demanded that Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei steps down, and some crowds of protestors are reported to have chanted "Death to the liars."

Questions have been raised in recent days over why aircraft were allowed to fly in the area during heightened tensions and missile strikes. The crash came hours after Iran had launched missiles against Iraqi military bases where US troops were stationed in retaliation for a US airstrike which killed Iranian Major General Qassem Soleimani airstrike.
