Pedro Sanchez sworn in as Spanish PM

Pedro Sanchez has been sworn in as Spain's prime minister after ousting Mariano Rajoy in a vote of no confidence amidst a corruption scandal.

The socialist came to power at a ceremony on the outskirts of Madrid, despite his party only have 84 of the 350 seats in Parliament.

Mr Sanchez's rise to power could see power devolved back to Catalan in the near future after Mr Rajoy imposed direct rule on the region late last year.
