Brexit deal debated in House of Commons

A five-day debate has begun about Theresa May’s Brexit deal in the House of Commons. On the 4, 5, 6, 10 and 11th of December, the Members of Parliament will debate about the government’s withdrawal agreement. The vote on the 11th will organise how the United Kingdom will leave the European Union and the relationship between them afterwards.

Before the vote, Speaker John Bercow will be able to select up to six amendments to change what has been put forward and let the MPs decide. However, nearly 20 Conservative MP’s have already officially said they will reject the deal, and 20 more are unhappy with it. According to experts, the deal will not be accepted on the 11th.

Main debated subjects remain Northern Ireland and the European single market deal.
