The Prime Minister visited the Austrian chancellor on Friday to discuss Brexit arrangements before her one-week holiday. Theresa May is to attend a festival in Salzburg as a guest of Sebastian Kurz, the chancellor of Austria. She has held talks with Kurz and the Prime Minister of Czech Republic Andrej Babis, in order to gain support for her Brexit proposals to the EU.

Vladimir Putin has invited Donald Trump to Moscow. The Russian President said he is ‘willing’ to allow his US counterpart to visit as long as the right conditions are met. This comes after Donald Trump extended an unconditional invitation for Putin to visit Washington D.C. in the days after their controversial Helsinki Summit.

A six-year-old boy has died after being shot with a pellet gun at his grandparents home in East Yorkshire. Stanley Metcalf was injured whilst at his grandparents’ house in the village of Sproatley, East Yorkshire. The Police are investigating the incident and whether the homeowners had a gun licence or whether the pellet gun even required one.

People all around the world have been staring up at the sky throughout the night trying to catch a glimpse of the longest lunar eclipse of the century. The eclipse made the moon appear a rusty red colour, however in true British fashion, despite the recent clear skies, the moon was covered by cloud and rain across much of the country.
